Energy Action began with a portfolio review that mapped every meter, contract end date
and recent usage profile. The high consuming gas site was reclassified as a large market
customer which opened access to sharper pricing. Energy Action helped deliver about $225,000 in annualised savings with clearer forward visibility of spend.

Southern Star Windows is a privately owned Australian group that designs manufactures and distributes aluminium and timber windows and doors for residential and commercial projects across multiple states. With a network of manufacturing and distribution facilities and a strong builder customer base, energy is a material input cost. Reliable power and gas at predictable prices are essential to protect margins and keep production schedules on track.

“We really enjoy working with Southern Star. Their team is pragmatic and decisive, which meant we could move quickly from analysis to signed contracts and deliver a strong outcome across gas and power”

The winning contract delivered about $150,000 in annual savings and about 29% reduction in unit cost along with 3 years of budget certainty. Four SME electricity meters were then tendered together. By simplifying terms and focusing on total cost rather than headline rates, Energy Action secured a combined saving of about $5,000 with reductions ranging up to about 19%.
For the seven commercial electricity sites, the priority was risk management. Market analytics showed that increases at some sites were unavoidable, so Energy Action focused on term selection, retailer diversity and aligning expiry dates. Deeper savings at several interstate sites offset a small increase at one Victorian site, delivering a net portfolio saving of about $70,000 a year.
