Case study

Duxton at O'Connor

Energy Action compared seven retailer offers and several contract terms against The Duxton's electricity profile.

The client

The Duxton is an O'Connor hospitality venue serving food and drinks across a bistro, sports bar and rooftop terrace. It also hosts private functions across several event spaces, making reliable electricity supply central to daily service and guest experience delivery.

The Problem

With annual electricity consumption of 437,506 kWh

The Duxton needed to secure a competitive electricity agreement without sacrificing cost visibility.

The challenge was to compare different contract lengths and retailer offers on a consistent basis.

“The Duxton is a terrific client to work with. Their team was clear, engaged and decisive throughout the process. I am delighted with how smoothly the procurement was delivered and with the strong, practical outcome achieved for the venue.”

The Solution

Energy Action assessed the venue's electricity profile and compared seven retailer offers across several contract scenarios.
The 36 month option gave The Duxton a clear view of projected contract costs over the full term. Against a benchmark cost of $187,283, the selected offer was estimated at $145,470.

That represented an estimated decrease of exactly $41,813, or 22.3%, across 36 months. Annualised, the estimated decrease is $13,937.67.

By presenting the costs on a comparable basis, Energy Action helped the client select an agreement that supported competitive pricing and longer term budget certainty, while keeping the procurement process straightforward for the venue team.
