The team that drives EnergyAction are the people available to help you solve your energy problems each day.

Valerie Duncan - Chief Executive & Company Secretary.

Val has been CEO of Energy Action Pty Ltd since July 2002 and has seen the Company achieve 20% to 30% growth per annum.

Val has 25 years Energy Industry experience including 19 years in Senior Management positions across all aspects of Financial Management and Accounting, Energy Trading and Retailing, Strategic Planning, Human Resource Management, Project Management, Corporate Governance and Company Secretarial.

Val is currently Chair of Sydney Credit Union.

Val's other interests include her grandchildren, genealogy, and improving her very high golf handicap.

Barry Denton - Executive Director, Sales.

Barry has been with EnergyAction since it's inception in 2000 so has seen the company grow from very small beginnings to the strong company it is today.

Barry began his working life in Australian Army, serving with the 5th 7th Battalion Royal Australian Regiment. Barry served overseas with the Battalion and proudly wears his medals and his Grandfathers WW2 medals on ANZAC Day and other miltiary occasions. After leaving the military Barry began his sales career, working in finance, manufacturing and before joining EnergyAction worked in both electricity and gas sales within Integral Energy.

Barry is a keen sports fan with particular interest in Australian Rules Football and Drag Racing. Barry's main interest outside of work is his family, a beauiful wife, two teenage sons and Chester the family dog.

Edward Hanna - Executive Director, Business Development

Edward has a background in energy pricing and energy trading, and has evolved the systems and processes which support the growth of the EnergyAction business.

Edward has been involved in the energy industry since the deregulation of the NSW electricity market commenced in 1997. His experience in system development and implementation in a dynamic marketplace keeps EnergyAction at the forefront of change in the Australian energy market.

Edward leads a team of specialists who implement energy buying and energy management strategies for all of EnergyAction's clients.

 

Helge Sangkuhl - General Manager, Operations

Helge joined Energy Action in 2010 to deepen our capability to manage the large and growing number of Energy Auctions and our management and reporting teams in the Activ8 and Activ8+ services.

Helge has spent 30 years working within Operations in both private and public sector organisations including 8 years in a major NSW energy retailer and for the past 6 years as the Operations Manager in a professional services consultancy with energy retailers as major customers.

In his spare time Helge is interested in classical music, swiming, AFL football and spending time with his wife and three children.
